Kile's Grocery is the place to stop when driving on Rt. 220 through Upper Tract. Whether for tourist, angler or local resident, Dave and Marsha Layton have stocked all the necessities. Stop in just to look at the wall of prize fish photos.
Conveniently close to prime fishing spots along the South Branch and Smoke Hole Canyon, Kile's Grocery even has a refrigerator just for fish bait.
They sell fishing gear, camping and picnic supplies, cold beer, snacks, souvenirs, tee shirts, groceries and sundries, and Susie prepares food and coffee to go. Their phone doubles as an unofficial trout stocking hotline, so keep trying if you get a busy signal.
Hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Mon. - Thurs. 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.; Fri. - Sat. 6 a.m. - 9 p.m.; Sun. 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.. Call (304) 358-7321.
